Introducing the National Film and Sound Archive


A fabulous free introduction to some of our national audiovisual treasures. Take an exciting journey through Australia’s screen and sound history with our experienced presenters.


Live shows will run weekends at 11am and 3pm.

Acton Walkways

Stories of Acton and Central Canberra, from Ancient Geology to Modern Geography


A walk around the scenic foreshores of Lake Burley Griffin’s West Basin with insights into the ancient and modern geology of Canberra provided by Dr Doug Finlayson (Geological Society ACT). End with refreshments at The National Museum (own expense). 


Meeting Point: Outside the entrance to the National Capital Exhibition, Regatta Point, Barrine Drive, Commonwealth Park. 

 

End: National Museum (20 minutes walk back to starting point)

 

Start Time: 10:00am

 

Finish Time: 11:30am
